"I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk… with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace" (Eph. 4: 1-3)
I am writing to you, dear brother major archbishop, to thank you for your letter informing me of your election as Major Archbishop of our dear Syro-Malabar sister Church. The Lord has chosen you “Pater et Caput”, to serve your beloved Church, in unusually difficult times, tested by time and going through difficulties and challenges.
I am sure that you will nourish your charisma as a good shepherd, to remind with great zeal and patience all your ecclesial communities, clergy and faithful, of the aforementioned words of Saint Paul to the Church of Ephesus.
I allow myself to mention the teaching of the Apostle of the Nations since I am the Patriarch of a Church that has endured so much violent oppression throughout her history and till the present times.
Please, forward my best greetings to my dear colleague Bishop Bosco Putur.
Looking forward to meeting you and personally congratulating you, I remain united in Jesus Christ, our Hope.
